Day 1: Arrive at the airport and transfer to our hotel. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 2: The next day we will visit Afyonkarahisar. From Afyon’s impressive castle, which was first built around 1350 BC, we have a spectacular view over the city and the area. The Large mosque (Ulu Cami) with carved wood pillars built in 1272 is one of the finest examples of this architecture. Afyonkarahisar is not only fa- mous for it’s marble but also for the hot springs. We can take our time to relax in a hot spring before starting our ride.
Day 3: After breakfast next morning, we will meet the horses and start out ride in the area of Seydiler and follow the phrygian valley north. On the way, we pass through small villages, hardly ever visited by tourists and get an impression of ru- ral life in this area.
Day 4: The landscape becomes more dramatic as we carry on and we will dis- cover some decorated caves. We cam close to Ayazini with it's carved curch. Day 5: On our ride we pass the phrygian sites of Maltaş (facade of a temple) and the grave chambers of Aslantaş and Yılantaş. We will see Arslankaya, the “Lions stone”, near the village of Döğer. Day 6: We ride along the shore of the lake Emre Gölü with its picturesque rock formations and head east to the mountain area where we stay near an ancient cave cemetery.
Day 7: We ride to Yazılıkaya, where the ruins of Midas city have been found. This is one the most important sites of phrygian culture. We will visit the plateau, seeing the Midas monument and other artifacts of phrygian culture.
Day 8: We follow the valley north where we see an impressive rock castle. We leave the horses near Çukurca in the afternoon and drive to Kütahya where we can take a stroll around the old city before dinner.
Day 9: We visit the historical town of Kütahya and have time for shopping.
After a short lunch, we drive to Cavdarhisar, where we visit the ruins of the roman city of Aizanoi, with it’s impressive Zeus temple.
Day 10: Transfer to the airport.
